Laura Forrest Hopfauf lives in West Virginia with her husband and two young daughters. Prior to settling down with her family, she lived out of a pickup truck for a year exploring North America, hiked across Dominica, and backpacked through Europe and North Africa. Her work has been featured in Mother Earth News, Blue Ridge Outdoors, Virginia Bride, and GoWorld Travel among other publications. She is a graduate of Knox College and works as a freelance writer.
