Food & Drink

Dining
Bars

There are over 20 different dining options on board, which makes for some tough decisions. Whether wanting to dine in the most glamorous restaurant on the ship, The Wake, featuring a raw bar, table-side drink cart service and Champagne poured by the glass from a magnum bottle, or at laboratory-like eatery The Test Kitchen, designed by Concrete Amsterdam.

Guests are encouraged to make restaurant reservations early on during the voyage, as tables fill up quite quickly. Last orders for room service are at 2 a.m., and guests can also order food to other locations around the ship.

Breakfast can be ordered the night before to be delivered at the hour of your choosing the following morning.

Craft your own pie at The Pizza Place on Deck 7, or head to Gunbae to enjoy Korean BBQ at sea. In some restaurants, like The Wake, guests can choose to indulge in a seafood platter or oysters for a supplementary charge.

Soft drinks and basic hot drinks are included in the cost of each voyage, but alcohol and premium hot drinks come at an additional cost.

There are plenty of drinking spots and bars on board, from The Manor, Virgin’s signature nightclub, named after Richard Branson’s first-ever music studio, right through to Sip, a decadent lounge that’s all about champagne and delicious cocktails. Guests can opt for a glass of bubbles priced from $9 or splash out on a $1,000 vintage bottle, depending.

Entertainment

The entertainment on board never seems to stop. Meanwhile, onshore excursions can be booked just before boarding, or shortly thereafter. Options include relaxed stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and snorkelling in Ibiza, walking tours in quaint French towns, and wine tastings. Costs vary, though at times, it’s hard not to feel like the price of an excursion is much more than you’d pay if you weren’t beholden to the cruise’s set costs.

There’s so much to do on board the ship that you may even experience FOMO as you realize you can’t possibly take advantage of every single offering. Catch a live performance at The Red Room, an impressive entertainment space featuring traditional stage performances and late-night dance parties.

The Manor’s sparkled entrance is one of the most photographed and Insta-worthy spaces on-board, and the backdrop for events ranging from an ‘80s VHS themed workout, a variety show and dinner, and late-night partying. Guests can also book a space in The Groupie, a karaoke, gaming, and movie lounge.

Ships in the Night, an innovative, often-emotional show depicting how we navigate the world and each other, is not to be missed and neither is Duel Reality, a modern acrobatic  examination of the age-old tale of Romeo and Juliet. For guests looking for that true adult experience, Never Sleep Alone is a participatory show with a straight-talking relationship therapist.

In addition to this slate of shows, Valiant Lady hosts quiz nights and evenings for crafting friendship bracelets, all of which can be found via a sometimes-fussy app. Popular activities tend to book up quickly.

Scarlet Night, a memorable evening involving team members performances, storytelling, dancing, and a photo booth so you can remember it all, takes place at The Manor, though the entire ship is cast in a red light to celebrate the event. Don’t forget to pack something red as guests are encouraged to glam it up and don something scarlet-hued.

Spa & Fitness

Editor Rating

The ship’s Training Center at Athletic Club features an outdoor training zone, boxing ring, and gymnastics equipment, all included in the cost of your trip. Sunrise and Sunset yoga take place on The Runway, a halo-like track that’s also suited for running or skating if downward facing dog isn’t your jam.

There are also boy-band hip-hop dance classes, spin classes, and even talks that may provide a life-changing perspective on improving your posture.

Highly-sought after classes, such as spinning, require advance reservations and tend to fill up fast.

The on-ship spa, the Redemption Spa, is a hideaway complete with hydrotherapy pool, mud room, salt room, cold plunge pools, quartz beds, and rejuvenating spa treatments.

The ship also has a barber shop, hairstyling bar, a nail salon, and even the first ever tattoo studio on-board a cruise ship.
