Tipping

Most hotels and international restaurants add a 10% service charge to the bill; however, it is a common practice to give a few extra dirhams in cash directly to the server (perhaps 5%). If service is not included, a 10% tip is the norm.

Bellboys, porters, and valet parking staff should receive small tips between AED 3 and 10. Taxi drivers expect a small tip—round up to the next 5 dirham. Tank fillers at gas stations appreciate some small change.
