Foggy Bottom

The neighborhood comprising Foggy Bottom, the West End, and the White House includes some of D.C.'s most iconic attractions, the biggest being the White House itself, the home of every U.S. president but George Washington.

But there are also some excellent smaller museums, including the Octagon House, Renwick Gallery, Decatur House, and the Department of Interior Museum. You will find the Kennedy Center along the Potomac River and George Washington University's campus. The area has a strong residential character as well, and is home to some of D.C.'s oldest houses.
