Bordering the chilly and powerful tidal Bay of Fundy, where the world's most extreme tides rise and fall twice daily, is some of New Brunswick's most dramatic coastline. This area extends from the border town of St. Stephen and the lovely coastal resort village of St. Andrews, past tiny fishing villages and rocky coves, through Saint John, and on through Fundy National Park and beyond. The Fundy Islands—Grand Manan Island, Deer Island, and Campobello—are havens of peace that have lured harried mainlanders for generations. Some of the impressive 50-km (31-mile) stretch of coastline between St. Martins and Fundy National Park can be viewed from the Fundy Trail Parkway.
