Taxi Travel

Taxis are metered and relatively cheap—a ride from Sultanahmet to Taksim is about 15 to 20 TL. Many drivers don't speak English, so it may be helpful to write your destination on a piece of paper, and to bring the business card of your hotel with you so you don’t have problems getting back later. Ask your hotel to call a taxi or find a stand in front of a hotel—you'll be more likely to get a driver who won't take you the long way around.
