Hamm and Sandweiler are two small suburbs on the eastern edge of Luxumbourg City. Hamm is home to the Luxembourg American Cemetery and is the final resting place of General George S. Patton who had asked to be buried with his men. Sandweiler's German war Cemetery is a little less than a mile away. All of the soldiers buried in these two cemeteries were killed during the Battle of the Bulge in winter 1944 and spring 1945.
