Austria' newest five-star hotel is everything you could want in a luxury accommodation: style, service, location. It is situated on one of the loveliest squares in all of Europe and is just steps from the newest shopping district. The amenities are superb, the atmosphere sublime.
Fodor's Expert Review
On the site of the former bank HQ, the historic charm and significance is a prime feature of this preeminent hotel. Architects preserved much of the bank's features in the hotel--which opened in 2014--including lovely, grand old clocks, cassette ceilings and the original Wiener Werkstätte stained glass windows. The building itself is only a hundred years old, but sits on the oldest, and perhaps the most quaint, square in the city, Am Hof.

Room
Large and sun-drenched, with huge windows and parquet floors, and large, walk-in closets. The large television is hidden behind a mirror. A coffeemaker, serving Illy coffee, is in every room.
Tip Ask for a room overlooking the square and wake each morning to the a view of the lovely Baroque facades.
Bathroom
Marble floors and fixtures, soaking tubs and large showers are a feature in every room, as well as large, plush towels. You'll also find a bidet. Amenities are by Blaise Mautin.
Lobby
Surprisingly opulent, given the understated grace overall. But oddly, it is fitting. Marble, oak, and inlaid Mother-of-Pearl, with walls of art on-loan from the Museum of Applied Art.
Pool
Closed for maintenance through winter 2018, the 50-foot lap pool is an integral part of the spa experience.
Spa
Named "Arany," which means "gold" in Hungarian, it should come as no surprise that many of the massage and treatments boast gold elements. The spa is located in what was the building's vault, and the vault door is a prime feature of the decor.
You Should Know The locker room for men does not have private showers.
Gym
Open til 10 p.m. and equipped with Techno Gym's "Artis Collection." When you've finished working out, hit the sauna and aromatic steam bath before reviving in the vitality showers.
Dining
In a short time, The Bank Brasserie & Bar, located in what was the heart of the bank, has established itself as one of the city's fine dining spots. The dining room is stunning, with chandeliers and marble, and the kitchen is open, so you can see what the chef is whipping up for you.
Drinking
The Pearl Bar is your choice for upmarket cocktails. Head to the Living Room for whisky and cigars.

Getting Around
Parking is not a possibility. You are within walking distance of not only the major sites, but major shopping in the city's "Golden Quarter." You are just a few minutes from the Herrengasse Ubahn.
Restaurants
Zum Schwarzen Kameel (Black Camel) is the place to see and be seen in this part of town. Zip past the street side cafe and dei, which are traditionally full of tourists, into the restaurant, which as the oldest restaurant in Vienna, celebrates its 400th anniversary in 2018. It has remained for a reason: Food is excellent, and atmosphere is hard to beat. For lunch, check out Gustl Bauer, the most talked about new gasthaus in town and boasting a delightful “Viennese Kitchen”—schnitzel, tafelspitz and the like. The mayor has become a regular here. Vestibül, inside the Burg Theater, is a must-visit while in Vienna. Chef Domschitz is a local legend serving up flair-filled entrees.
Bars
Onyx Bar, with sweeping views of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, is a busy nightspot known for its cocktails as well as its classy clientele. Uber chic Leo Hillinger Wine Bar offers a pleasing selection of Austrian wines and lovely terrace seating in the warmer months. For a more casual space, head to Nightfly’s American Bar on the Dorotheergasse. Music is Rat Pack to 70s rock, and the drinks menu is impressive.
