Olly Beckett

Olly has worked in the travel industry for 20 years and in 2003 graduated from a Tourism Studies degree. In addition to running his own site aimed at independent travelers, he’s worked with large brands such as Expedia, Opodo and NCL, marketing to audiences of up to 35 million people. Although he has written for tourist boards such as Visit The USA, Tourism Ireland, and South African Tourism, and popular sites such as A Luxury Travel Blog, he has only recently started out as a freelance travel writer. He has lived in London, Bournemouth, Melbourne, and some remote parts of Ecuador. Olly’s wanderlust has led him through over 80 countries and all 7 continents. He enjoys the challenge of finding his way through the world on trains and planes, or freighter ships and cruise ships, or sometimes even camel. A keen hiker, Olly has a long list of routes he’d still like to try, and wherever he goes he will always seek out whitewater rafting opportunities.
