Olivia Liveng
Olivia Liveng (née Balsinger) has been called many things, but "dull" never one of them. From canoeing with a Shaman in Ecuador’s Amazon to witnessing the Circle of Life IRL on one of her 15 trips to the African savannah, Olivia is constantly fueled by her passion for adventure and desire to combine exploration with the art of storytelling. With a Bachelor’s in Journalism from the University of Connecticut and a Graduate Certificate in International Relations from Harvard, Olivia began her career in Manhattan working in corporate America. However, it wasn’t long before her journalistic desires overpowered her desire to stay put and she took to the road to pursue travel writing full-time. Since then, her writing, photography, and broadcast segments have appeared in print, online, and television for outlets including the New York Post, Business Insider, Paste Magazine, Insider Travel Report, TravelAge West, Travel Pulse, Forbes, American World Traveller, and many more. She has been awarded InterContinental Hotel Group’s “Journalist of the Year'' Award (2017) and has been a panelist at various travel events, including at NY TraveFest and SoHo House. Olivia has enjoyed work as a destination scout for a popular travel television series. She also routinely works with tour operators and destinations to develop new products and communication strategies across the tourism industry value chain. While she has explored over 100 countries, Olivia's most meaningful travel moment was meeting her future Danish husband over a beer in Bangkok while solo traveling through Thailand. Today she is lucky enough to call Copenhagen home and the world her office.
