AMS connection, intra-Europe

BUD-AMS-CDG both flights on KLM Cityhopper and connection time is 1 hr 45m. That should be very doable, right?

How about a 40m connection KLM Cityhopper to AF?

Am thinking about leaving a bag at the Hilton at Schipol. Would a 2h 30 connection allow for that? Or would I need the 4h 10m connection?

Am flying USA to AMS and spending the night at the Hilton. I would have two bags. Leave one at AMS or the Hilton and fly to Vienna next day with the other bag. Then fly BUD-AMS, swap the two bags during the connection to CDG. Later returning to that Hilton the night before flying home.

Ok, simplifying my question:

How much connection/layover time do I need at AMS to pickup/drop left luggage at the airport or at the Hilton? Connection would be KLM Cityhopper to KLM Cityhopper or KLM Cityhopper to AF

AMS can be a mess. The less faffing around with luggage drop off/collection the better . . .
