Cinque Terre Card

Hello fellow travelers. In the past when I went to Cinque Terre they just had one CT Card, which was good for both the trains/bus and trails. Now I see they have 2 versions of the card. It appears the Train Card includes the trail too or do I need to buy a Trekking Card as well for the trails? It would be pretty pricey to need to both so I'm thinking the Train Card will cover both? Can someone please confirm for me. Thank you! Ciao.

That's how I interpret it, but I haven't been to the CT in several years.

I just found a different website that is easier to understand and the Treno card does give access to the 2 hikes that they charge for so I am good to go. Thank you!

When did they start charging to go on the trails?? When we last visited about 3 decades ago - the only guy charging was actually peddling his grappa along one of the trails!!

That was in the last century.

They've been charging for at least 25 years . . .

I have another question related to the use of the CT Treno Card. Once you have the card, is that considered your train ticket? Do you just show up on the track and board with the Treno Card? Or do you need to still get an actual ticket and get that validated before boarding? If so, how do you get an actual ticket?

Hey! Just got back from Cinque Terre. The Train Card does include access to the trails, so you don’t need to buy the Trekking Card separately. Enjoy your trip!
