Turks & Caicos - Alexandra Resort, The Sands or Other
Hi Everyone,
Will be taking my family (2 adults, 3 grade school aged boys) to Turks and Caicos for the first time next spring. Amy recommendations on hotel? Have been considering Alexandra vs The Sands. Some people would say that one should not stay at an all-inclusive in Turks and that there are so many great restaurants. That would steer me toward the Sands. I’ve also heard that the Sands has a better beach, but not sure if that’s true. It seems like Alexandra may have more family activities and be a bit more lively. The All Inclusive is certainly convenient.
My priorities are beautiful beach, very nice pool, convenience to restaurants, shops, good food, and activities for the kids (I know Turks is more laid back than say Aruba). I want to make sure the kids won’t be bored!
thank you for any advice!!

I would skip ALEXANDRA mostly because of the food, but also because I think there are better choices for families. I would look at the two OCEAN CLUB properties, both of which have really nice accommodations, swimming pools, on site restaurants ( though we think breakfast and drinks are best), and two of the best
beachfronts on Grace Bay. Ocean Club West is walkable to restaurants, shopping, and the grocery store. Ocean Club East is on the quiet end of Grace Bay Beach, but provides a shuttle to Ocean Club West for its guests. IF you want more upscale, I'd look at: SEVEN STARS or GRACE BAY CLUB, both walkable to
many restaurants, grocery store, etc. THE SANDS is also a good choice for families, plus it has HEMINGWAYS, a popular restaurant on site, and I think many of the units were recently renovated. Hope this helps!
