Surfing with kids in San Juan La Union Philippines

Hi. Researching but not finding a lot of up-do-date information on the web for learning surfing in San Juan, La Union, Philippines.

Planning a trip to Manila in April ; and considering a side trip to La Union. Together with my 11 yearold son and 9 year old daughter. And all of us taking some surfing lessons!

1 - How many days would be ideal ? I'm thinking of taking the bus there , hopefully overnight and spend the 3 days before heading back on the last night ?

2 - Any recommended surfing schools ?

Any other tips on San Juan ?

Thanks

Hello, @Eric_Bal! Expect your trip to Manila during April to be very hot as it's summer season in the PH. If you're with your kids, suitable places I can suggest to go are Art in Island Museum (Cubao, Quezon City), Mind Museum (Taguig City), or the DreamPlay Manila (City of Dreams, Manila). If you want amusement park the Star City is also in Manila. Expect also a bunch of local tourists in the La Union because as far as I know it's famous for surfing and other beach activities.

3 days is good (excluding travel time). If you want to enjoy more of the place you could stay for a week.

Have you checked San Juan Surf Resort? They offer surfing lessons also for kids: www.sanjuansurfresort.ph/surf-school

San Juan Surf Resort
Urbiztondo, San Juan, La Union,
Philippines 2514

Surf School and Surf Shop Contact Details:
Email [email protected]
Facebook Page - San Juan Surf School and Shop
Call/SMS - (+63) 956-578-8101

I haven't made any dealings with them for the record so I guess it's better if you contact them first for inquiries if you are interested. There's another surf school which you can check:

La Union Surf School – Kahuna Beach Resort
Address: Kahuna Hotel, Cafe and Restaurant
National Highway, Brgy. Urbiztondo
San Juan, La Union 2514
Telephone Number: +(63) 917 564 1759 (Jeff Ortega)

I hope this helped. Cheers!

Sorry, If you want to enjoy more of the place you could stay for two more days. I think a week would be so long unless you'll be wandering around the La Union.
