Why Access to Services at Home should not affect your next trip
I use to wonder why at I ever needed VPN.
Perhaps I should share my personal experience with you of my VPN journey so far. I had course to work outside the country at a time, I noticed that I couldn't access some services that I was previously used to. My bank didn't allow me access my account from where I was despite providing all the required validation. Then I got introduced to VPN and I started by using the free ones. I don't know what the bank found out, they blocked me out totally requesting I physically came to the bank myself. Crazy hummmm.
Well, since then I have learnt now how to choose my VPN's carefully.
Best of luck.

@thursdaysd, this is very correct. For security reasons, lots of services are not allowed to be initiated from outside the country, but if you are on holiday, you want to access some of these service that is where you may need VPN.
Apart from that, when on a public wifi network, it is also a good idea to use a VPN to hide your data. Knowing what VPN to use though is not at easy pick as there are lots of them flying around. Some of the ones here are probably the best for now. https://itday.com/vpn/best-vpn-services/
