We recently flew Munich to Denver, nonstop on Lufthansa. I had carefully selected seats, for the 10.5 hour flight. We used Mileage Plus miles, and were happy to get Lufthansa.

When we were seated, and getting settled, the attendant announced that everyone was aboard, and the plane was about half-empty. They told us to feel free to spread out.

So happy! Everyone sighed, and claimed extra seats. Some had three seats and could lay down. DH and I each had two seats at the window. My seats were directly in front of his.

I swear this made the flight so much more pleasant, because even those of us in Economy were comfy. Plus, of course, they actually fed us and provided alcohol!

Mel, I hope you're lucky, too. But I think it was a rare occurrence. It was the flight that leaves Munich around 10:25 a.m.

Wow! I love it when there are free seats on those long transatlantic flights.

Next year Lufthansa will be serving my home city of Austin, TX. I like Lufthansa too so I am excited about this.

The bad thing for me is there are only 3 other airlines that fly non-stop from Austin to Europe, so these flights tend to be very full.
