A perfect launch pad for exploring the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve, this attractive little town hosts the park’s information center. Acadian families from the Magdalen Islands settled the area. Listen closely for their distinctive Acadian French dialect, which differs from the more common (some say nasal) Québec French. Excellent fishing means restaurants serve plenty of snow crab, scallops, lobster, and salmon.
