Dubai has a safe and modern electrical system—it needs to with the amount of neon emitted every evening. The electrical current is 220/240 volts and 50 cycles, which is different from the system in the U.S. Appliances brought from North America will need a transformer. Most plugs in Dubai are the three-prong rectangular blade plug—type G—also found in Britain. Type C (two rounded prongs) will also fit in some outlets.
