Copper Harbor

TRAVEL GUIDE

Nestled at the top of the Keweenaw Peninsula, Copper Harbor is the Upper Peninsula's northernmost village and the site of one of the Midwest's oldest frontier posts. It’s also the gateway to Isle Royale National Park, with ferry service departing daily during the summer months. Other draws to the region include self-guided fishing trips and organized mine tours. A strong connection to Scandinavian culture remains nearly a century after the first immigrants arrived from Finland. Restaurants serve dishes featuring whitefish and lingonberries, and public saunas cater to visitors and locals alike.
