Boat and Ferry

Boaters—many traveling the intracoastal waterway—dock at Ashley Marina and City Marina, in Charleston Harbor. The Charleston Water Taxi is a delightful way to travel between Charleston and Mount Pleasant. Some people take the $12 round-trip journey just for fun. It departs from the Charleston Maritime Center. Do not confuse its address at 10 Wharfside as being near the area of Adger's Wharf, which is on the lower peninsula. The water taxi departs daily every hour from 9 am to 8 pm from mid-March to mid-November; 10 am to 6 pm Saturday only from mid-November to December 26; 10 am to 6 pm December 26–31; and 10 am to 6 pm Saturday only from January 1 to mid-March. It also offers dolphin cruises and harbor boat rides.
