Bicycle Travel

Biking is a good option for getting around New Orleans, especially when traveling to the Marigny and Bywater, Uptown, or Mid-City.

The city's bike share system, Blue Bikes, allows locals and visitors to use a mobile app to rent a bicycle in most New Orleans neighborhoods. After a one-time $5 set-up fee, rides cost 10¢ per minute and allow riders to drop-off their borrowed bike at any fixed structure near their destination. Download the app and a map will show you where the nearest bicycle is to you.
