Barbara Noe Kennedy
Barbara Noe Kennedy left her longtime position as senior editor of National Geographic Travel Publishing in 2015 to delve into the freelance travel writing world. She writes about destinations, art, food and drink, culture, and history; and her work has appeared, in addition to Fodor’s Travel, in the Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, BBC Travel, Lonely Planet, TripSavvy.com, National Geographic, and more. She also teaches online travel writing classes. Though she lives in Arlington, Virginia (just outside Washington, D.C.), she’s a San Francisco Bay Area native who returns to California as often as she can. She also has lived in Bangkok, Thailand; and Bordeaux, France. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
