Why do you travel?
Simply put, to understand: myself, my fellow travelers, other cultures, where we came from, where we might be going.
-
What’s one thing you never travel without?
A good book for long plane/train/bus rides.
-
What’s the first thing you do when you arrive in a new place?
Find the best coffee.
-
Where did you have your most unforgettable meal?
Franklin’s BBQ in Austin, Texas. It’s probably the only place in the world worth a two-hour line (especially since you can tailgate with mimosas while you wait).
-
What’s on your travel bucket list?
Everywhere? But more specifically at this moment: the Atacama Desert; the sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica; New Zealand; and Lyon, France.
-
Where’s your favorite beach in the world?
Puerto Escondido, Mexico.
-
What are your favorite countries, destinations to travel to?
Ireland will always have a huge place in my heart. The people, the landscapes, the Guinness. It’s been over eight years since I lived there, but it still feels like home.
-
If you had limitless funds, what would be your dream destination?
Hang with the penguins on a cruise through Antarctica, South Georgia, and the Falkland Islands.
-
What items do you always try to bring back as souvenirs?
Wine/craft beer/booze that I can share with my friends, or anything I can decorate my home with (aka all the tchotchkes).

A true New Englander’s answer: exploring Boston and road-tripping up to the White Mountains in New Hampshire.
