Air Travel

Many major airlines fly nonstop from the United States to Guadalajara. Aeropuerto Internacional Libertador Miguel Hidalgo is 16½ km (10 miles) south of the city, en route to Chapala. Autotransportaciones Aeropuerto operates a 24-hour taxi stand with service to any place in the Guadalajara area; buy tickets at the counters at the national and international exits. Some hotels also offer airport pickup shuttles; these need to be arranged in advance.
