Ace is a boutique hotel that breaks the mold and brings a "Pacific Northwest cool" type of vibe to the historic NoMad neighborhood. At this laid-back Portland import, staff wear custom Levi’s and Converse sneakers, and creative types gather in the big lobby. Beyond the refreshingly unpretentious and laid-back attitude, room service from the stellar gastropub, The Breslin, is reason enough to make a reservation. There's no other way to say it: this place is seriously cool.

Room
From affordable bunk-style rooms (yes, they really have bunk beds) to massive suites, this hotel has stylish rooms at a large range of price points. No two rooms are alike—they all have original artwork and fun details like turntables, Gibson guitars, and Pendleton wool blankets.
Bathroom
Standard bathrooms have basic features, like white subway tiles and rain showerheads. Upgrades equal claw foot tubs and pretty French doors.
Lobby
The lively lobby is the centerpiece of the hotel. The space isn't stuffy and has plenty of seating, drawing creative freelancers sipping Stumptown coffee by day, and then sticking around for the live DJ sets at night.
You Should Know Some guests might find the lobby a bit sceney. It is a popular spot for locals, which doesn’t always leave tons of room for guests.
Dining
With two in-house restaurants run by celebrated chef April Bloomfield—the Breslin gastropub and the fish-centric John Dory Oyster Bar—along with the crowd-pleasing Stumptown Coffee Roasters in the lobby, guests don’t have to travel for trendy dining or celeb-spotting. It's all right here.

Ace Hotel is in a prime position for exploring on foot. If you walk north, Midtown is within easy reach. If you go south, you can explore the area around Madison Square Park and beyond Union Square. This isn’t the best location for subway access, though the 1 train is available at 28th Street and 7th Avenue, and the R, W trains are at 28th Street and Broadway.
Restaurants
Part of The Ace’s appeal is its in-house dining options, but the neighborhood also has solid choices. For a date night over modern Italian fare, stroll down Broadway to La Pecora Bianca (4-minute walk); outdoor seating in warm months is particularly appealing. Make a reservation in advance for Junoon (8-minute walk), one of New York’s most acclaimed Indian restaurants— and get dressed up and arrive early for a drink in the bar before dinner. Cracker-thin Roman-style pizza is found at Marta (4-minute walk) in a big, bright space; aim for a counter seat to watch pizzas being pulled from the oven.

Classic cocktails are served in a refined space at The NoMad Bar (2-minute walk). For a more casual experience, order one of the 12 rotating beers on draft at Flatiron Hall (5-minute walk).
